Our Kickstarter campaign has ended. Gratitude and thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement!

Not just another cafe.

Austinites love caffeine, socializing, and their neighborhoods. They also love sharing these experiences with friends and families. A niche exists that has yet to be filled for a family-friendly, quality-driven coffee/tea house with a comfortable, cozy and inviting atmosphere.

While there are several coffee shops in the north central Austin area to grab a coffee or tea, there are no gathering places that:

  • offer delicious, quality English/French-inspired foods,
  • are family-friendly,
  • have meeting rooms that allow for privacy and events AND
  • are warm and charming.

That’s where Brentwood Social House comes in!

The owners.

Suzanne Daniels and Sarah Olano met and found they shared the same dream – to open a tea/coffee shop in the neighborhood where they both live.

Suzanne will design the shop interior and manage the daily operation.

Sarah will create the English and French-inspired menu, using farm fresh ingredients in her tasty English pastries, quiches, savory pies and salads.

Together they will develop a space where neighbors can come for excellent tea and coffee, wholesome and cultural food, and share inspired conversations.

The good news.

Suzanne and Sarah have found the perfect location and are in the process of signing the lease! The space is located at 1601 West Koenig Lane in the popular and growing Brentwood neighborhood, also very close to Crestview, Hyde Park and Rosedale. It will be walking distance for many, with ample parking for those driving by. It has beautiful curb appeal and is on the corner lot at a light of a highly-trafficked street.

This gorgeous 2200 sq ft café will have a main dining area and separate rooms for privacy, including areas for a kid-friendly space where kids can play and parents can relax and a quiet area for those needing concentration while they work. And all areas/rooms would be available to rent for meetings, parties or events.

It will have an outdoor patio with additional seating on the lawn area. The pet-friendly garden is spacious for you and your best friends to enjoy.

Why your help is welcome...and needed!

While this spot already has a great charm about it there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.

The current tenants have already done a lot of the finish out inside but it is set up for a clothing boutique and not a café.

Electricity and plumbing will have to be increased, floors leveled, bathrooms updated, walls demoed, grease trap installed, and tons of other smaller updates.

Originally we were going to bake off-site and bring the goods to the cafe to serve. However, we would love to make fresh food in-house every day. Imagine walking in to the tantalizing aroma of scones baked that morning. An on-site kitchen would also allow us to make food to order such as our delicious, sweet and savory crepes. We love the benefits of baking in house but the costs fall outside our available funds.

Through personal investment and an SBA loan we are able to:
•    Renovate the space from a clothing boutique to tea and coffee house
•    Purchase some equipment and furniture

Your super-appreciated contribution will help us:
•    Bring the kitchen up to commercial standard code
•    Purchase an oven and baking equipment

We are so excited to be embarking on this journey and creating a special place for you to enjoy. And we would love your support. Click the button below to explore our Kickstarter page and find out more about our project and our thank you rewards for those of you in and outside of Austin.
